I’ve emailed with Josh before and he was very unpleasant to work with. According to the Sales Rep I worked with briefly, they built the company by buying out popular facebook pages and converting them to outlets for their stories.

I believe I heard that the City has blacklisted golocal for publishing false information and refusing to issue a correction.

Interestingly, at the moment it appears that about half of the pages on the site are down.
